Black Dog White Dog hardware update

So I have been working hard to make the hardware for the piece Black Dog White Dog Hidden Village will be performing. It has been an ordeal, nothing less. Lauren and I have also started programming the Vectrex Logo animations for the work. The aim of performing some sort of direct, real time video to audio translations without using a computer for analysis seems so simple, yet getting it working properly has been a long journey over the past week or so.

Last night, we had a basic prototype ready to go. It only has eleven sensors, instead of the final twenty-four (because Jaycar didn’t put our order through that we put in like a week ago). The sensors are of course very quick to react. The results are promising, and hopefully people will enjoy the results. I have built as much of the hardware now as I can without the final thirteen sensors. It will certainly be a very tight squeeze, in terms of getting it built on time…

I will post an in depth look at how the hardware and software parts of the system work together after the concert, and once we get our broadband internet back...
