Real Time MIDI Sequencing on a Real Sega Mega Drive / Genesis

An MP3 of Ableton Live controlling a real-world, original Sega Genesis video game console (and the sound chip within it) in real time via MIDI.

Enough said.

Now Listen. And listen some more.

The examples above have been recorded directly from the audio line output of the console. The audio has not been edited in any way, apart from normalisation on a file-by-file basis.

@ gijs: yes, this stuff will be made available at some point in the future, along with the vectrex midi interface, the sega master interface and so on. it just takes time to do all these things (as you surely know), and they are all being developed in parallel.

kind regards,
