Cheap USB to MID Interface

Although MIDI is old, some would argue that it is outdated. I don't believe so, and for me it is useful to have USB to MIDI interface. I think that other people in the chip, lo-fi and DIY communities would tend to agree with me. From time to time, I hear people complain about how expensive a USB to MIDI interface is. For the most part, the cheap ones can be terrible in terms of lag, compatibility and whether all data is sent or received. However, I have had a reasonably good experience with this USB to MIDI interface. The price is around US$12 including international shipping. I am running it on a Mac OS X 10.4 MacBook from a USB1.1 port hub, to which my audio interface is also connected. I have had no issues with this interface, but of course I can't guarantee that you won't have issues with your machine.

I reckon that's the exact same I use for interfacing with my guitar rack gear with my macbook. Works a treat and cheap!

I also have one and it works well; not that I've used it much yet. :D

If I trust my experience with my _two_ such interfaces (different colors), this doesnt transport MIDI SYSEX at all in windows using the built in OS drivers.

But I admit its quite usefull and cheap for normal MIDI though, and im a sucker for cheap and usefull chinese cables :)

Would be interresting if you could confirm sysex on OSX.

I have one that looks exactly the same... I usually have some issues with lag, and I have to make various reconnections in order for it to work properly, but when I connect to a 1.1 usb port, it looks like there are no problems at all.

I just bought this for my Studiologic SL-161 MIDI controller. Works Excellent! What's better for a fifteen year old to do than sit in his bedroom and produce tracks!

It's worked fine for sysex transfer for me. That's all I use it for really! Oh, this is on OSX.

Yeah, I have this too! It DOES work really good for the price! If you ever build a MIDIBOX based system, prepare for hell. It'll crap out bigtime, trying to upload the code. Otherwise, it rocks!
Also, what happened to your 8bc account? I can't seem to find it!
