Passive Volume Pedal as USB MIDI Controller

Hardware Setup

Three wires should be soldered to a Teensy board; Ground, 5V and Analog Input 1.

Solder each of these three wires (ground, 5V and Analog Input 1) to a Tip Ring Sleeve audio socket connector. Ground should go to sleeve. 5V should go to ring. Analog Input 1 should go to tip.

Connect the TRS socket to a 2 x 6.5mm mono to 1 x 3.5mm stereo cable. The right signal should go to the volume pedal input. The left cable should go to the volume pedal output.

Software Setup

Connect the Teensy board to a computer via USB. Type out the above code. Upload to the Teensy.

Map the volume pedal via MIDI CC 7 channel 1 to your favourite MIDI-controlled parameters.
