Sometimes I want to be able to set up MIDI mappings to control numbers simply by typing them into Live instead of clicking on having a given parameter in 'learn' mode.
This device is basically a floating window where you can type a number in, and this will generate a random CC value with the chosen CC controller number.
The outcome is that it can speed up the process of setting up complex mappings IF you know which controller numbers and channels are to be be used.
